Mother’s Day Jewellery 2025: Top 5 Picks from Matthew Ely

As many of my dear clients know firsthand, being a mother isn’t an easy job.

It’s multifaceted to say the least – part psychologist, personal chef, executive assistant, chauffer, nurse, teacher, and dispute resolution expert.

It all depends on the day.

While a special gift won’t lighten the workload, it can certainly add a little sparkle.

Here are my top five picks of jewellery for Mum:

1. A Special Experience: "Gemstones in the Garden" (Limited Spots Available)

This is an easy number one.

This Mother's Day, we will be hosting an exclusive event: ‘Gemstones in the Garden: A Mother’s Day High Tea & High Jewellery Experience’ at Matthew Ely Jewellery.

With only 10 session times available, this intimate gathering offers a personal jewellery styling consultation with Matthew Ely, Pommery champagne and tea/coffee (or other beverage of choice), a selection of high tea treats, and an exclusive first look at our latest collection of colourful gemstones.

Guests will enjoy a guided experience in gemstone education, and have the chance to design their own unique piece.

A gift voucher can be purchased in advance, allowing Mum to choose or design her own piece on the day. The voucher can be beautifully printed and presented alongside an event invitation - available for pick-up from the Matthew Ely Jewellery Boutique prior to Mother's Day.

To arrange something special, please contact us directly.

Groups of 1-4 welcome, and little ones are invited too.

2. An Eternity Ring

Not an engagement ring, not a wedding band – but something even more special.

An eternity ring is a timeless milestone marker, often gifted to celebrate the birth of a child or grandchild, or to commemorate a significant achievement (like getting through another year as a Mum).

While this is no new concept, eternity rings have truly found their place in 2025. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has recently been stacking them in place of her signature blue Ceylon sapphire engagement ring. One of these is a full-circle diamond eternity ring, believed to be a gift from Prince William marking the birth of Prince George in 2013.

Here are a few of my personal favourites:

3. Flowers... that Sparkle

Flowers are always a lovely choice. Flowers that sparkle? Even better. From classic studs to intricate floral-inspired designs, here are a few pieces Mum is sure to adore.

4. A Signet Ring

A little unexpected but incredibly stylish – signet rings have surged in popularity as chunky gold jewellery and ring layering take centre stage.

These timeless designs can be personalised however you choose, making them a meaningful Mother’s Day jewellery gift.

5. A Personalised Pendant or Necklace

The initial of a child or grandchild? A special date or message, hand-engraved into a classic design?

Personalised jewellery for Mum makes a sentimental and timeless gift for Mother’s Day. Here are a few of my recent custom-made pieces designed for Mums (and Grandmas!).
