A handcrafted Australian masterpiece, featuring one of the largest & longest known strands of Keshi pearls in the world.
Crafted 100% by hand over more than 700 hours, Iluka features a remarkable strand of 41 Keshi pearls, with an additional 19.43mm Keshi pearl in the detachable lotus flower brooch.
These incredibly rare pearls were sourced over a period of 13 years. They measure 14.33mm to 19.43mm, compared to the average Keshi length of 2-8mm.
The detachable Keshi pearl and diamond brooch was inspired by Australia’s stunning landscape and the aquatic lotus flower. It has been handcrafted in white gold, with an additional four ‘petals’ hand-carved in A-grade crystal quartz, sourced from the White Rock Quarry in South Australia.
The brooch is set with four matching Argyle pink diamonds (0.18ct-0.22ct each) and 140 smaller Argyle pink diamonds, with a total weight of 2.75ct. The colour range is 6PR-8PP for an ombre effect, and the total pink diamond weight is 3.56ct.
There are 534 round brilliant cut white diamonds, with a spectacular D-F colour grade and VS clarity. Individually, these measure 0.08mm to 3mm, with a combined weight of 9.87ct.
Spaced out between the Keshi pearls are five handcrafted rondelles, each set with a single Argyle pink diamond, 2 round white diamonds and 4 oval white diamonds. The Argyle pink diamonds weigh a combined 0.35ct and the white diamonds weigh 5.66ct.
The total diamond weight in Iluka is 19.44ct.
This one-of-a-kind piece was handcrafted by Matthew Ely at the Matthew Ely Woollahra Workshop & Boutique.
